This one-day workshop is open to artists of all levels who want to explore alternative watermedia techniques. We’ll take a playful, experimental approach to reworking abandoned paintings, blending painting, mark-making, and collage. Using recycled artwork and various materials, you will create fresh compositions that evolve through intuition and creativity. As you push the boundaries of your materials and ideas, you’ll develop new ways of seeing and creating. Whether you are a beginner or advanced, you are encouraged to discover and explore your unique expression and personal imagery in realism, abstraction or non-objective.
Shown above are before (to the left) and after versions of Judith’s original painting, which she took into a more abstract realm. Some of the original painting has been preserved but the rest was covered in gesso and then reimagined. She used some artgraf water soluble graphite and a bit of collage as well as some gouache.
CAA Board members all agreed that they have some old paintings that did not quite meet the mark, and we are betting that you do, too. Join This workshop and have fun transforming your old work into something new and exciting.
The workshop is Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 10am-4pm at the Trinity Episcopal Church in Allendale, NJ. See the details and sign up by filling out this registration form.
