Lisa Zukowski creates multi-media sculptures, paintings, prints and installations that often incorporate repurposed or found items of humble origin. She says “I see beauty in used materials and discarded objects, and think of them as relics of lives lived.” She often hides things in her work, either objects, secret meanings, or obscured text. Her close-knit Italian family is often represented in some way, such as using the old clothes of her parents to wrap the piece shown here.
